I walked the 631 mile south West coastpath using this bag over 4.5 weeks, it was just about the best bit of kit I bought. I carried spare clothes, waterproofs, stove, gas, food, tent, sleeping bag, rollmat and a few bits (torch, guidebook etc). I never really thought about the bag which is its biggest compliment. I liked the ternary storage options. I used the two external vented pockets for waterproofs and tent fabrics which did then dry out to some extent if put in wet. Adding the supplied elastic to the loops on the rear of the bag meant I could hang drying clothes on the back which was useful. I used one side pocket for a 2 litre water bottle and the other for the tent poles and pegs. The two straps each side meant everything could be securely fastened. The inner and outer pockets on the lid were great for bits to use readily such as guidebooks with the inner one for bits used less often such as phone charger. The hooks and elastic loops on the shoulder straps were great for sunglasses and hats. The hip belt pockets were used for phone (used as a camera) and snacks.
When it rained water did get in so anything you want to stay dry should be protected. Worst areas were the top/outer pocket on the lid and the very bottom of the main bag (water must have collected inside). After 4 hours of rain in High wind on my back and then sideways it was understandable.
I bought the large because I'm 6' and had a 31-32"waist when I started. Now 30" waist and the hip belt is on the limit of how small it can tighten.
Great adjustment for shoulders, load position etc. I altered load between shoulders and hips depending on mood, terrain and which bits ached most as I went through each day.
Great bag, I love it and would recommend to anyone doing a long walking trip.

I used this bag for the PCT this year. It was fantastic and I would thoroughly recommend it. Comfortable, lightweight enough (if I were to do it again I would go the Ultra Tour 55 or 40) and a good size. It only got a small tear in it but after a quick sew job it was good to go!
