The quality is excellent as is the value for money. I cannot give a 100% full review as I bought this in preparation for the cold Snowdonia weather in winter and as yet that hasn't arrived. I have been out in a heavy shower to see how it performs and it did very well - it's definitely too warm to wear it the current temperatures, but the indications are that it will be just what I want for winter.

I live in Scotland, where cold and wet seem to go hand in hand. After getting caught in showers wearing a down jacket, I liked the idea of synthetic fleece insulation that would keep me warm even when wet. I ordered the jacket because it is far lighter than the classic Extreme Jacket Montane offers. The Hydrogen Direct Jacket is very warm but I returned because the plastic snap fastener for the button beneath the main zip broke the first time I wore the jacket. Also, I had hoped I might be able to wear a micro fleece beneath the jacket but there is not enough room. There is room for a base layer, and had the snap fastener not broken I might have kept the jacket. It should be noted that Montane has been excellent with respect to customer service when I returned the jacket.
