First of all I'm a big fan of Montane products. And the one item that made me a fan is this jacket. Since then I've bought 2 more jackets (Ultra Tour jacket and Minimus jacket) that is just great.

The Black Ice jacket fits great and snug, all the pockets are well placed (I love the fleece on the inside of them), it's warm but I've used it winter/spring/fall without overheating. In the winter I use it every single day, both casually and in the woods, and it shows little to now signs of wear. It's built tough.

One downside COULD be the hood. If you're not into the climbing thing, it could be a bit big and although you it's tightened, it could leave some excessive fabric. It's not a big thing, but still something to know.

Great work Montane!

The jacket is everything I hoped it would be. It’s very warm and yet very light. Pockets in all the right places and chords to ensure a perfect snug fit. It’s expensive but you get what you pay for. My only moan, is the hoad doesn’t roll away very nicely.
