MINIMUS PANTS RECEIVE THE GREAT OUTDOORS ‘RECOMMENDED’ AWARD
Gear Editor Chris Townsend reviewed the updated Montane Minimus Pant as part of a comparative waterproof pants review in TGO’s June 2019 issue. Suitably impressed, the Minimus Pants were awarded a coveted ‘TGO Recommended’ rosette for their versatility and feature set whilst being the lightest waterproof trousers on test.
Cited as ‘the world’s lightest and most breathable waterproof mountain pants’, they were lauded as being truly ultralight. As such, their compressibility was also noted. Their close fit paired with the breathable Pertex Shield fabric making the Minimus’ being ‘quite soft and comfy to wear.
“These are ‘the world’s lightest and most breathable waterproof mountain pants’. and they really are ultralight.”
Other features such as the cinchable velcro tabs over the Minimus’ leg zips were noted for increasing comfort and most notably being able to fit over all but the bulkiest boots despite their trail-running heritage.
Such is their versatility, Chris also noted they would be especially useful for backpackers.
