Joss Naylor MBE to start the Montane Lakeland 100

Joss Naylor MBE the legendary fell runner will be firing the starting gun of the Montane Lakeland 100. Joss was described by Chris Brasher as "the toughest runner in the world". Some of his achievements include:

1975: 72 peaks involving over 100 miles and 37,000ft of ascent in 23h 20min.
1986: Completed the Wainwrights in 7 days aged 50.
2006: 70 Lakeland fell tops, 50 miles, 25,000ft in under 21 hours aged 70!

The Lakeland 100 is a most spectacular trail race. The circular 100 mile route encompasses the high passes of the Lakeland Fells with over 23,000ft of ascent in just 40 hours. The route follows high narrow trails and bridal ways taking in the most stunning scenery the UK has to offer. It is the single toughest trail race in the UK.

In its third year and accelerating in popularity, the Montane Lakeland 100 is set to be a world classic race.

The race commences 23rd, 24th and 25th July 2010.
